Hi, I'm Ruby

I am the founder of Rubys of London and I'm a certified vegan baker also specialising in products additionally free from wheat, gluten and refined sugars.

My passion for good food began at a very early age with many of my childhood memories made in the kitchen. Being diagnosed with a childhood dairy and egg intolerance, I was often left with the uninspiring free from option while looking longingly at the birthday girls glorious cakes. I believe that this is where the Ruby's story really began.

I launched Ruby's back in 2010 from Greenwich Market offering a wide range of vegan bakes and as they say the rest is history! This was a great success and business grew quickly with lovely customers travelling to us from near and far.

My passion for product innovation and creation has taken the business in many different directions over the years but one thing that has never changes is my commitment to producing premium products, using the finest ingredients to ensure the best customer experience possible. Free from should never mean less than and that is a core value for us all here at Ruby's.

Starting this business from home with no money to invest but a whole heap of passion and determination has been a real roller coaster with many challenges and triumphs along the way. I had always dreamt of having my own shop and when the opportunity arose in the Summer of 2020 I grabbed it with both hands.. even if we did have a pandemic on our hands! I am proud to say we opened the doors July 2021 right where the my business journey began at Greenwich Market. I cant wait to see what the next 10 years hold and look forward to feeding many more of you!

I was awarded the 2010 Slow Food Bursary and am a recommended supplier for BAFTA Members Club, alongside taking part in a number of London based events including the BBC Food Show, Thames Festival, Real Food Events and many more. I am very honoured to have been awarded the 2013 British Baker Product Innovation Award, winning alongside some of the best bakers in the country. This was a huge honour and has inspired me to develop my range further and keep experimenting.
